 Thanksgiving Break

    Over Thanksgiving break, I did a lot of fun things in that short amount of time. So first of all I went home on Sunday because my class schedule was very flexible and made it very easy for me to go home earlier than usual. So when I got home on Sunday I saw a lot of different changes to my house because usually, my dad goes on his yearly hunting trip with my brothers and his friends so usually my mom does some fixing up to the house. When I got home our family room TV was very small and that's usually where the whole family watches movies and shows so there was a 70-inch TV instead of a 35 and it was really nice to have a bigger and nicer-looking TV. Then I helped my mom paint the laundry room and do all the walls and the cabinets in there because the whole laundry room was outdated and that was really nice to see the final product.

    During the week a lot of my friends came home for Thanksgiving so it was really nice getting back with all my friends again I haven't been able to see any of them because of soccer so it was very nice to catch up with them and see how they were doing. We did a lot of fun things together we went to our local recreation center and played some basketball like we always did in high school. At night we would watch some sports games that would be on and play poker together just like in old times. After Thanksgiving, we have a tradition with all my friends where we do a Friendsgiving and we all bring in food and have our own Thanksgiving which was a lot of fun to do as per usual. Then before the night that we all had to go home we just went to a restaurant with a lot of other friends group from my high school so everyone could catch up and see each other which was really fun.

    Then for Thanksgiving day, I went to my grandparent's house for Thanksgiving on my dad's side of the family. We always switch it off every year last year we were at our house and both sides of grandparents came over but it wasn't at ours this year. We went over there around 4pm and we had some appetizers and we got the turkey ready for dinner. I would say I'm a fan of turkey if I don't say so myself, especially with some gravy it's so good. I then talked with my grandparents for a while because I hadn't seen them in forever so it was really lovely seeing them and we watched some Thanksgiving football as usual can't go wrong with that. After we ate dinner we had some desert that my mom had made we talked for a little more and then we said our goodbyes. All in all, I would rate it a very successful thanksgiving and was a lot of fun.

So I scored my first ever soccer goal against Carthage College last Saturday on family weekend. The reason that it meant so much to me not only was it my first goal but it was also in front of my family and friends. First Semester Of College

 First Semester Of College Recap                 For it being my first semester of college I would overall say it was a success. I came into college honestly not knowing what to expect, to be honest really. The reason I didn't know what to expect is because all these people tell me all this stuff about college and their experiences. Yes, they have been through college already and they have more experience than me but everyone ones experience in college is a lot different people from a bigger school are going to have a different experience than someone who maybe had a went to a smaller school like me. Class Expectations for writing

 Hi, my name is will Mayer! This is my first year at North Central. This blog will be for my CARD 101 class. For my class expectations in this class, I want to become a better writer and extend my thoughts in writing instead of being very vague with my writing. In high school I really struggled in writing, because I feel that I wasn't really understanding what the author was getting at. Now that I'm in college that's very key to understand, because the writing level will be higher and there will a lot of information being thrown at you. I feel that one way that will help me is rereading and taking notes on what I read so then I can grasp what I just read.
