First collegiate goal

 First College Goal

I'm going to talk about my first ever soccer goal for north central and how much it meant to me. So I scored my first ever soccer goal against Carthage College last Saturday on family weekend. The reason that it meant so much to me not only was it my first goal but it was also in front of my family and friends. My grandma was there to see it and my grandmother hasn't really been feeling well recently so it really meant a lot to me that she came and supported me at my game. I didn't play that much in the game but I did play the last 15 minutes in the game and in those 15 minutes I scored and also got an assist. It was such a surreal moment and was filled with a lot of emotions.

Now I'm going to talk about the goal. So before I even scored I had an opportunity to score before that but I was unfortunately offsides so it was called off and all my hope was lost because I thought I wouldn't get an opportunity like that again. But that wasn't the case, so there was about a minute left in the game and I was on the right side of the field and my teammate had the ball in the central part of field and he lofted the ball over the defenders head into the path of my run and there I was face to face with the keeper. When i took a touch with the ball it was a bad touch I was thinking in my head did I mess this up, but the keeper didn't come out of his box so he gave me time and space and he left his near post open and I just full on powered it near post and at first I was in full on shock and I was straight into full excitement.

In the end it was a great experience and it will be a moment that I will never forget. It was also so great to see my teammates so happy for me and it made me happy.

Class Expectations for writing

 Hi, my name is will Mayer! This is my first year at North Central. This blog will be for my CARD 101 class. For my class expectations in this class, I want to become a better writer and extend my thoughts in writing instead of being very vague with my writing. In high school I really struggled in writing, because I feel that I wasn't really understanding what the author was getting at.
